Johnny's Coffee Dry Rub
This coffee dry rub combines ground coffee, brown sugar, and spices for a flavor explosion that’s truly incredible!
Johnny, who used to be one of John's sales guys, gave us his favorite dry rub a few years ago. He mentioned that this recipe was inspired by Tim Byres, the chef and owner of Smoke and Chicken Scratch in Dallas. It's seriously so good that there’s nothing to modify—this one’s definitely a keeper!
Don’t worry, a coffee rub doesn’t make the meat taste like coffee. Instead, it brings a savory, deep, and earthy flavor to your meat. Thanks, Johnny! ❤️
Ingredients
1/3C finely ground dark coffee
1/3C chili powder
1/3C smoked paprika
1/2C Kosher salt
2/3C packed dark brown sugar
3 tbsp sugar
2 tbsp granulated garlic
1 tbsp cumin
1 tbsp black pepper
1 tsp cayenne
Instructions
Really…. you don’t need instructions. Just mix all the ingredients in an air-tight container and store it in cool/dark spot in your kitchen.
