Herb-Marinated Goat Cheese
This is so simple yet so delicious—definitely one of our favorite goat cheese appetizers!
I like to think of charcuterie boards as edible art. It's a great way to show off your cooking creativity without having to really cook anything.
This marinated goat cheese is so easy to make and so delicious. This is now one of my favorite items to add to my charcuterie boards! This recipe has been adapted from That Cheese Plate Will Change Your Life by Marrisa Mullen.
1 serving
Ingredients
1 4-oz fresh goat cheese
3~4 tbsp olive oil
1 tsp lemon juice
3~4 tsp fresh thyme, finely chopped
3~4 tsp fresh basil, thinly sliced
a couple pinches of crushed red pepper flakes
1/4 tsp Kosher salt
1/8 tsp black pepper
Instructions
Slice the goat cheese into pieces about 1/8” thick and place them in a shallow container. (It’s okay if some pieces crumble—don’t worry about making perfect slices!) In a bowl, whisk together olive oil, lemon juice, thyme, basil, and crushed red pepper flakes.
Pour the olive oil mixture over the goat cheese. Cover with a lid or plastic wrap and marinate in the refrigerator for up to 3 hours.
Transfer the marinated goat cheese from the marinade to a cheese board. Sprinkle with kosher salt and black pepper. Serve with crackers and a drizzle of honey.
